Although mine is at 70%, is anybody actually running it yet? How does it perform?

I have a wind 8.1 rtm key can i use it now or later?
I doubt that you can use it directly, ever.

I hope that someone will correct me if I'm mistaken, but I believe the Win 10 upgrade will not accept a key from an older Windows version. If you install Win 10 as an upgrade over and installed, and activated, qualifying older OS, you won't be asked for a key, and the Win 10 installation will be activated.

Not until July 29th, unless you want to make an iso from your update on Win10 and try that...
I just created an ISO from the ESD.

Can I upgrade from Win 7? Activation issues?

I'd prefer not to do a clean install (yes, I know it's best but I've got SW that would need reinstall...a PITA)

back up. it seems to run exactly like 10166. there are a few more addons for edge. but mostly the same stuff.

here is some more info from gabe:

“Besides builds, over the next 2 weeks you’ll also see some Windows Updates and app updates in the Store, so make sure to keep checking for updates daily to make sure you’re running the latest and greatest code,” Gabe Aul, Microsoft’s general manager for the operating system group’s data and fundamentals team, wrote today. So whether or not build 10240 is indeed RTM, either way testers are going to be getting new builds and updates right up until the launch. Microsoft will likely have updates ready for you even if you upgrade to Windows 10 on launch day."
