I would be curious to know for those that opted out of the insider program if an expiration was added back.

Here is how to find out.

Run this from a administrative command prompt

    Code:
    slmgr /dlv
Then see if the display shows an expiration date.

Then for those who still at 10240.16384 would better be staying until new releases arrive before opt-out the Insider.
Just to add to the confusion... running 'dism /online /cleanup-image /checkhealth' from an elevated cmd gives me:

    Version: 10.0.10240.16384

But consulting [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion] shows a UBR of 16393, and the BuildLabEx is 10240.16393.amd64fre.th1_st1.150717-1719. What does it all mean?

Last time I checked, I had the same product key as another forum member who noticed he had the same key on two of his PC's. I've seen that same key listed in other threads. I'm not leaving the Insider program until the 29th. This was an upgrade install from Windows 7. The last 10 of my key are -9MPGT-3V66T.

I have not opted out, and the slmgr /dlv command shows no expiration date.

Mine is exactly the same as your version. I have 16393 in regedit and 16384 when running slmgr /dlv at elevated command prompt. So, go figure!!!

I upgraded from Windows 8.1, and that's the same key I've got in 10240...

I'm not opting out of Insiders until after the 29th - don't want to blow it now. I've waited this long, I can wait another week or so...

If you've opted out, can you now opt back in?

    Good question.

Also, I read here in this thread that someone had already opted out of the insider program. If 10240 is the rtm then it shouldn't have expiration date if you upgraded from windows 7 or 8.1 now if it is not the rtm it should have an expiration date when you opt out of the insider program.
