Groze, if previous builds installed then great odds would have it that 10240 will. I had trouble a few times at first, rebooted, and it finally took. When was the last time you rebooted?
reboot the computer, and then restart the update app. then go into task manager, and restart update again. this should do the trick.

The Mail, Photos, Twitter, Facebook, Instapic, Calendar, Plex and Weather tiles are all working for me of the one at top of my start screen on my Surface.

On my pc those same ones above all work except Weather.

I don't know if there is any way to alter the content short of what's in your files for that given app. It's randomly chosen. In the past with 8.1, you could reset the tiles and they would go back to pulling fresh content instead of cycling the same photos like in the Photos app. This really hasn't bugged me much, and I haven't seen the setting in 10, but i'll look around and see if there is some setting buried deep somewhere or maybe MS just left it out.

Either way, i'd report it in feedback if it has never worked for you. Or, you may just need a clean install. Surface is a clean install from a few builds ago. The pc where some tiles aren't working, I haven't done a clean for a long time. Will do one on final.

Thank you very much for your reply.

Due to the fact that just today I discovered a new (official) .INF file and IME driver for my motherboard - please, see my System Specs - and also a new version of my LAN driver, and in addition since I am facing the same bugs I was facing on build 10162, I have decided to perform right now a clean installation of the 10162 build and then upgrade to 10240 again. I will follow the official and legitimate way. I will not "touch" build 10162 at all, neither will I install any program. I will just wait it to update to 10240. Then I will check all these bugs/issues again.

It would be great if other people, as well, would comment on IF they are having any of these bugs or not. For example, the time format on the lock screen is something that can be checked out very easily. Or the "application preventing the computer from shutting down / restarting" issue.

Finally, it is not that any of these bugs really bother me. It is the fact that we are all previewing / testing a few things, and we are reporting back here and on the Feedback, of course.

Thank you - see you next time with less or no bugs, hopefully. :)

From Gabe's comments, at least we know that the idea that 10240 is RTM was indeed just another rumor after all...:)
It might be RTM, but it might not... it's just not signed off on yet. So, this release COULD be the exact same release that is eventually signed off on.

I just about killed myself trying every setting I could think of but eventually I was able to get an ISO and I used that to upgrade. So far all great.
Definitely glad you didn't have to go that far. :) Windows 10 is really looking good. I've already upgraded my Windows 8.1.1 to Windows 10 as my main OS. I imaged my drive first just in case I have to go back to 8. Now I'm thinking about getting a Windows phone.

I think this build is RTM and we will see updates only between now and the 29th.

    Will build 10162 upgrade 10240 ?
Yes, it will. The questions is, will it activate?
