Windows 10 Build 10240 for PC is now available

Perhaps this is RTM since I got video driver update that only works with 10240 and none of the earlier builds.

i don't blame you I wouldn't go through all that crap again either, I'm sure they'll figure out a better way.

I have got a feeling that I will be installing and upgrading a strictly bare bones OS then doing the upgrade to Win10, grabbing the Win10 license number, and do it all over again for all of of these old licenses. That might include going from Win8 to Win8.1 THEN upgrading to Win10 . Geez.
Fortunately I have an 850Pro 256GB SSD waiting for Samsung magician to update to Win10. I can use that for quick loads along with a USB3.0 stick with Win7, 8, and 8.1 installed on it with the Win7 USB tool from MS.

i'm running an 840 with magician 4.6 in win 10, with rapid mode ON. why are you waiting?

If it works like bit-torrent, the more people that have done the update, the faster it goes for the next guy. Also takes the load off of the Microsoft server. You get parts of what you need from other Windows 10 insiders that already updated or are updating. I think its a really good move, and about time.

that only works if all of those users keep their client open and uploading.

Mine started about an hour ago. Downloads 10 to 15% at a chunk, waits a few minutes and then does it again. Last I looked it was at 50%. Have a 4 Meg download pipe.
