Buy a full Retail version and you won't have that problem. I'm not trying to be a smart @ss, just saying, this free upgrade may have restrictions on it. I haven't seen Microsoft actually spell it out in black and white though, not yet. They have said, once you do the upgrade, Windows 10 is then free for the life of this device. I take that to mean it dies when the device dies and is non transferable. You can make up your own mind. I just didn't want you spending a lot of time installing Windows over and over again for nothing.
This installed super fast! Is this the RTM build, that is the question.
If it works like bit-torrent, the more people that have done the update, the faster it goes for the next guy. Also takes the load off of the Microsoft server. You get parts of what you need from other Windows 10 insiders that already updated or are updating. I think its a really good move, and about time.
now i have win 10 10240 working good do i need the windows.old mapp on C:/ ?
I certain agree and left it on. Other large program installs are doing exactly the same thing. World of Warcraft downloads from other users during the initial install and during patches ( as I would assume other Blizzard games do- I wonder about STEAM?). I was just surprised by it more than anything else. This is MS we are talking about, the king of the server center, promoting torrenting.
It's a free offer, they have the right to set the terms. You'll only need to buy if you wait more than a year to build your next rig. Otherwise install 7 or 8.1 with one of your TechNet keys and do the free upgrade to 10. You have a year from the 29th to take Microsoft up on the offer.
