ok. What about the IT guy who has to deal with 800 computers running Windows 10 ?
He flips a switch and all 800 computers upgrade to the next version.

BTW, Enterprise doesn't have as many bells and whistles as Windows 10 Pro.

The entire process has changed. It used to be service packs rarely and they had issues,
and now it's update after update after update.
Daily, weekly, monthly updates. The OS no longer runs in a finished state.
Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_10_editions or Windows 10 Education, etc.

Actually, I do believe it has all its features plus more. Windows To Go for one, which is why I'm running enterprise on my laptop.

If only it was that easy. Believe me, tech is sweating bullets over system maintenance.
So many updates require a reboot. Rebooting can be problematic.
If they ever fix that nightmare, it would be helpful.

Yeah, the E version can have no store apps and is removed from the end user ecosystem.

But runs, and runs good too. I'm sure MS is acutely aware about business needs and how to address updates so they do not upset anything. I'm also sure that MS doesn't use Linux or Apple as their business system.

Service Packs were never rare. I'm not going back to see how many each new Windows had, but Windows 7 is the only one I can recall that had only one.

    Yup, and it's by design . . . A Windows 10 that's always as up-to-date as possible.

Finished State? Beggin' yer puddin', but would you rather wait a year for a Service Pack to fix all those niggling little things you don't like about Windows 10 or get a fix as soon as it's finished?

You're sitting on a concrete pasture and there's half a glass of water. Would you complain that the glass is half empty, or would you be grateful for that half a glass of water? Your choice.

How do you know its LTSB? Does it state that anywhere on your system info. I'm running 10 Enterprise on my Laptop. It has all those Apps etc, that you say yours doesn't? Mine is not the trial though, it's a fully licensed MSDN version.

Yeah ! It's ok. It's the state of the art.
I does seem to me like a frail person who needs medication all the time to stay healthy.
Or like a car or truck that will be destroyed by use without constant maintenance.

An OS is just that way. It's never a finished product.
