The point of an 8" phablet is that it is portable.

A projector can project images far larger than 8".

The rings in Zardoz were mobile devices that used a projector (they also included a microphone).
Superior in most aspects when compared to our mobile devices.
Didn't see the movie, nor was it explained at IMB site you linked in the preview caption to know that "The rings in Zardoz were mobile devices that used a projector". Great idea for future tech. If it can be thought of, sooner or later it most likely will be developed.

    No.
An 8" screen is a joke considering the hype about so-called 4K video.
Basically from what I read is that the movie industry introduced 4k format. A lot of online video sites such Netflix, YouTube, MSN videos, etc. have adopted HD format if produced that way or in 4k. This is with consideration of the graphics resources of smaller mobile devices. I watch HD on my Lumia phablet at times when there is no access to a bigger screen. Seems ok to me. Of course an 8" screen would be better and progress even better as the screen size increases. Of course watching it in 4k would be better also.

At no time did I disagree with your comment/idea about docking stations.
Please take it easy. No, you didn't disagree. The problem for me and probably others is that I/they didn't see the movie to catch your point.

To reiterate and add to my point within the tech we have today is that I would only need one device along with the docking station and Continuum to use as a full-blown Desktop PC. No need to purchase and manage multiple devices.

Doubt there will be any more builds. 10240 is it. Going to 10241 would be a change of the kernel.
    In other words, windows 10.x

I was referring to insider builds. MS would have to come up with a new build number for new releases of 10 for insiders to test.

    @nt62

They are talking about the insider program. The insiders should still get builds before it is released to the general public. It may not be called builds but it is the same thing.

Plus, it is possible that kernel will also change during an update/feature upgrade.

I doubt that too. Windows 10 is a finished product and only updates are coming.
Unless MS is planning on Windows 10.x as the Insiders Program was testing build after build after build.
It is a good question > Where will the Insiders Program lead to OR how long will it continue?

Proof > Devices are being sold with RTM Windows 10. (10240)
A change in the build number and Windows 10 would no longer be 10.0

I doubt that. The naming convention has not changed since Windows 95.

A build number change is a recompilation of everything.
And they don't release builds incrementally. +1, +2, +3 etc...
If they release, for example, 10340, Windows 10 will no longer be 10.0

If by "Cross contamination" you mean malware, than your concern is quite real. It can spread to any storage attached. For other concerns, you can hide other disks in either dual boot OS.
    Hi there

If the HDD's are Hidden / totally separate then you are effectively operating two separate hardware systems -- no problem --but from my experience most people who operate "Dual Boot" systems -- even when the 2nd system is Linux tend to make HDD's / Partitions (other than the System Boot partition) available to both systems.

So that's exactly what I mean by "Cross contamination" as Malware downloaded by System A could easily effect an application / data on a "Visble drive" / Partition used on System B (Systems A, and B are the Dual boot OS'es).

I'm actually surprised that this topic hasn't been raised before as I think --especially if using legacy OS'es in this way could present REAL security nightmares.

@all Dual booters -- unless you REALLY need to physically dual boot a system you are much safer these days if you want to run legacy / alternate OS'es to run the other OS'es in a VM (Virtual Machine).

    Cheers

My Linux system updates its kernel all the time. Sometimes it is just a small revision, so why can't windows?

    Here's what's next for Windows 10 | The Verge

Terry Myerson in an interview with The Verge. Windows 10 testers will start to receive new builds shortly, with the ability to test new features like Microsoft Edge extension support before it's available more broadly later this year.
I guess they are still going to call it builds at least for the insiders.
