We learned our lesson on the synching in messing up our 8.1s, eh Kerry? What a mess that was!

They have sub-categorized a lot of settings through the builds. The Settings app is coming along nicely IMO. Much better than CP I think.

Yeah, syncing the Start Screen Tile layout messed me up in 8.1. That's gone now in 10. The other options I find useful though.

Thanks, Alpha. So I gotta do it on all of the machines to keep them as I want them?

I don't know if it's because I'm looking for more in Settings or what, but you're right; Settings is beginning to show a little more common sense.

I don't like where they're put the Power settings, though.

Pretty well, kind of depends on how many PC's you have. If you only have two, turning it off on just one will do it. Just as well to turn it off on all of them.

It will be nice when its all in the one spot. I still find myself guessing whether to open Settings or Control Panel to find something. On a clean install I go through both slowly to set everything up the way I want.

Oh? It's under "System", so anything to do with configuring it. IMO they categorized everything quite orderly.

Well, you know me. I'm all for WinRT. Admittedly the new apps absolutely sucked back in early 8. However, I saw the concept behind them and stuck with them to see their development through the years. They have come a long way. e.g. Settings is so much better than in 8/8.1, especially that they made it a separate app. Of course more highly defined.

One of the reasons why I'm getting to like 10 more is the newly developed MS apps such as Mail and Calendar to name a few. Much more professional in looks and function. There are some bugs in them that I'm quite sure they'll work out.

Glad to see you're sticking with it to learn.

While I'm here, here's a new color scheme to match Bing Desktop of the day. A rich blue. Just like the day, it's new.

Power Options is still in control panel. Basic settings are in Settings with a link (Additional power settings) back to Control Panel. It's not all ported to settings, yet. I still do all my Power Settings from control panel.

Yes. That's one of a few that hasn't been ported over yet. It'll be interesting to see when they do.
