I have clean installed the latest Win 10 build and as an Insider, it got activated without problems. @Jody Thornton: You should be activated from the very beginning?
Maybe this will help Jody Thornton. https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/1...n-install.html
Read yellow Tip.
Having activation problem since making a mistake fresh installing just after the upgrade from Build 10166 to Build 10240 just before GA date due to messing with OneDrive online. After that no full boot. Used a member's ISO made from ESD using the listed generic keys. It installed, but no activation. Reinstalled again after GA via Windows Media Creation Tool again to no avail. Same keys showed up. Just ran Coomand Prompt Admin slmgr /ato only to get result as seen below. It seems once one looses activation at least this way one cannot attain it again no matter what one does. The server records the keys with hardware. It seems once it's blocked one must call it in.
I'm killing time on the phone as I type with MS customer service waiting for someone to speak with. 44 minutes and counting. I'll let all know how it goes.
BTW I just want to remain an Insider. All settings are correct in that way.

@HippsieGypsie
Did you try a clean install of build 10166? See if it activated, then upgrade to 10240, then do a clean install of 10240?
@HippsieGypsie
@Wynona
I wonder if Microsoft is forcing the new requirement that the insiders must have a Microsoft account associated with insider builds.
HippsieGypsie did you try associating a Microsoft account with the insider build then re-booting to see if it activates?
Wynona
I am no longer an insider, so I can't test these things out. I didn't think build 10166 expires tell later this year.
