Last night, I downloaded the ISOs I needed from the tool you guys mentionned and, ealier today, I discovered that my SSD was done about ~7GB from the last time I checked without downloading anything very voluminous from the last time I checked. So, it must have been Microsoft's tool. Do you guys know about temporary files downloaded to my C:\ that weren't deleted afterward?
I think it uses a hidden Windows~SW folder?

I deleted it on my PC, along with the Windows ~BT folder. disk clean up will get rid of the BT folder but not the SW one.

What the heck, Sitting here on 8.1 waiting to get invitation to install upgrade and suddenly it's downloading upgrade again. $Windows.~BT droped again to 140 MB and SoftwareDistribution/Download is growing, just like first time.

Bad luck or a slow connection I would say. I upgraded 4 PC's all at the same time in less than 2 hours.

I know but why is it downloading now again, started without prompting. I already done it twice, made ISO and everything but it wouldn't start upgrade automatically. DL about 10 Mbps.

You might have been trying to do it the same time million's of others were.
    Try it again.

I think the Media Creation Tool might also use or do something to the Windows~BT folder. My folder had 4.9 GB in it, then after running the MCT it only had 40 something MB's in it. Just a guess though? That's when I gave up and just used the MCT to do the upgrade. When I did my upgrades I used the "Upgrade this PC now" option. It skips creating any install media and just does a straight up upgrade. No rebooting or having to boot from install media.

Yeah, when I did my upgrades there likely weren't to many people that new about that tool yet. Word spread though.
