Windows 10 Build 10240 for PC is now available

I have 2 rigs both with no upgrade available. I just have this machine with a clean Win 10 install, I plan to run IP until I have to buy a store version of the new Win 10.

Since it starts at 7:00 PM Central Time, I'll attend the first session, then go to bed. When I wake up, we'll see what Windows 10 is doing and go from there. :)

You don't have Windows 7 or 8.1 on either of them? Or a license to either?

I was running Linux on this machine, the other one has valid Win 7 Pro installed but it is way too old to run 10.

Have you checked it out? I've seen stuff that says if it will run Windows 7 or 8, it will run 10. I think there's a compatibility app at Microsoft to see if it will run.

Yes, I am using a machine that came with Vista, upgraded to 7, which runs perfectly. I also run 8.1, which runs beautifully. And I've been running 10 since October with no performance issues. This is a 2008 vintage rig...

I'll try the compatibility app on it but I won't hold my breath. Even on this 7 year old machine 10 runs but the optical drive no longer functions even with all the most current drivers.
