Confused, I am, the new build 16179 is up and running smoothly and calling itself the Creators Update.
Yes, I've seen some other people with the same problem posting Feedback...are you getting the text, "Hi! We're upgrading your software, schmuck! And..." blah, blah, blah...? If you aren't, then we have the same problem--but if you are seeing that text, before you go to a blank screen, then you and the other guys I responded to today about this likely have a different problem--if they, too, are seeing that text before dropping out to a blank screen.
In my case at the very end of the install when I should be seeing the "Hi!, etc." text, the screen drops to black and won't respond to keyboard or mouse input--and only way out is to power off completely, and then power back on. After that, the new OS boots to desktop like it should without any further problems. It's happened that way for every UUP build.
This release is not going final till September that is a long time to test.
https://blogs.windows.com/business/2...ZGomdXOTVXY.97In a recent blog post, the company announced that the Redstone 3 update for Windows 10 will be released in September 2017. More details about the update's features are expected to be revealed during the Build 2017 conference that is happening from May 10th to May 12th, 2017.Based on this feedback, I am excited to share today that we are aligning the servicing models for Windows 10, Office 365 ProPlus and System Center Configuration Manager for our customers, particularly those with Secure Productive Enterprise. The Redstone 3 release schedule fits Microsoft's new strategy of releasing Windows 10 updates twice a year. The next major update to Office 365 will also be aligned with the release of Redstone 3. This will allow business clients and IT specialists in the enterprise sector to know when exactly they should expect the next update so they can be ready to test and upgrade their software and hardware solutions.
Here are more details.
- Windows is committing to a predictable twice-per-year feature release schedule, targeting September and March of each year, aligning with Office 365 ProPlus. The next Windows 10 feature update will be targeted for September 2017.
- Each Windows 10 feature release will be serviced and supported for 18 months. This is consistent with our current Windows 10 approach, but adds further clarity and predictability to organizations by aligning with Office 365 ProPlus.
- In addition, System Center Configuration Manager will support this new aligned update model for Office 365 ProPlus and Windows 10, making both easier to deploy and keep up to date.
