But can you upgrade to the next IP build in a portable Windows OS installation, and will it be able to receive updates?
Yeah - that is an issue. I forgot about that. It receives updates but you cannot upgrade the build.

There are ways around it but probably more hassle than its worth.

Actually, the same applies if you install it in a virtual hard drive. I never understood why Windows does not let you do a build upgrade in a vhd attached to the host but does when vhd is attached to a vm in hyper-v.

You can pop the natively booted VHD into a VM, upgrade it and return it to native booting, I think - it may get some activation issues in the VM, but that does not seem to stop upgrades and updates. I suppose you can do the same with the VHD in the WintoUSB installation - worth a try?

I have done it this way and it works - just a hassle.

What I have done is to use Mail for my Microsoft Accounts (and linked the Inboxes) and Outlook for Gmail, Yahoo and a business account. This is working. But I think I'm going to try to install Gmail at least under Mail - don't have a clue why it isn't working for me.

I was however, able to install Gmail "manually" with no problem at all

As well as all my other accounts. Basically I like Mail quite a bit.

    This is interesting:

If you right click a 'jump list eligible' item in the Start Menu, you'll get the options and the jump list, and, it's a little slow if your jump lists are long,

    However,

if you double right click it, you'll get the options only! And it's a little quicker!

    Nice stumble then, Edwin.

I know you alter your Start menu/screen, but it works on the screen and All Apps. Lo0oks to be Win32 apps only, or no?

    Very cool nonetheless.

I get both, but, kinda random.
Like, Windows Media Player won't give me options only, always full jump list.
I have 'Maximum Jump List Items' set to 1000 items, and, it's about that long!!!

Now were doing real scientific inquiry! WE don't know what we did to do what we wound up with!!! Ha Ha HA
Don't know why I am laughing -- I can't even get this build installed on my desktop. Just on laptop. So I can't even create anything!
