I updated Wednesday. I despise it so far. Altered my desktop and menu font sizes. I had to find registry fixes to change everything as the previous options in Display and Personalize are gone. My system seems to take forever to boot up a shutdown as well
I spent far too much time seeking solutions. I would like to thank Bill Gates for cutting into my surfing time. You Putz!
It's not him any more....I'm not sure who is in charge of MS these days....would have to research. I share your sentiment however.
What's the consensus - after some time now - about the 1703 CU-update? I'm still a bit hesitating.
Cheers
I updated from 1607 to 1703 on the day it was publically released. No serious issues but, as was the case for the Anniversary Update, there were some initial bugs that needed fixes. Known issues, now fixed:
Chkdsk not working?
Creators update component store shows corruption but unable to repair
For me, 1703 also fixed one known issue I had with 1607...
System Restore fails: AppxStaging %ProgramFiles%\WindowsApp 0x80070091
There is one remaining issue I'm aware of, Edge cannot cast media to a DLNA device...
Creators Update - Edge cannot cast media
I'm not a gamer, but some have reported stuttering problems...

...though apparently there are also some workarounds.

If you have any concerns, the safest way is to wait for 1703 to be offered through windows update. Machines with known 'problem' hardware are being blocked from receiving it until their specific issue is resolved.
