Same error ev ery time I click Retry. I'm going to try renaming SoftwareDistribution and see if that helps.
They show up here just fine, as long as I don't have system folders on them.
1 TB SSD = System drive (C:)
240 GB SSD = \Users data drive (D:)
1 TB Mech HD = Storage (where I've manually moved my Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders (E:)
1 TB Mech HD = More storage (mostly ISOs and downloads from various repositories, like DreamSpark) (F:)
500 GB Mech HD = Backup (G:)
80 GB SSD = Utilities, like UUP2ISO, ESD2ISO, Snappy Driver Installer, etc. (G)
As you can see from the pic, It is not showing C / D / E, which I suppose is because, as I said, I have moved system folders to D and E. But the other three show up just fine. And all my drives are formatted NTFS.
I cna understand your frustration. I've luckily only had those types of issues a few times, 2x on the main desktop (which I just waited until the next build came out) and 2x in VMs (one of which I abandoned and the other I just used hte .ISO I had made to upgrade).
Did you try force rebooting the machine?
I usually don't either, but I βeta test so much software that sometimes it's just easier to start fresh.
Renamed C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution then tried it again. It started from scratch and went all the way through with no problem. Took almost two hours with 4 or 5 restarts but it worked. I just deleted the renamed SoftwareDistribution folder which got rid of almost 10GB.
Now at 16170.1000.
I created a new VM using the official download of the CU .ISO I made using the MCT (both archs) and it accepted my Windows 7 key during install and after install I have a digital license linked to my M$ account.
Going to try with 16170 next. Let's see if it breaks like my previous attempts in the 15K builds.
