I thought you might want to try this again. I turned off computer over night and this morning turned it back on and went to Insider drive and fired it up and - voila - it worked. After 10 tries yesterday afternoon/evening with failures, it took this morning. I think MS might have done some work on the install setup because it did work, at least for me. Josey also able to get install this morning after multiple tries yesterday.
No thanks.. it's installed and right now I really don't want to go through that again.
    Thanks for the idea.

@Wynona, did you succeed this time? I am trying again on my desktop.

Oh my God, the desktop actually Is on 16170!!!
And, it seems everything is intact and in the correct place---taskbar removed Internet explorer icon and just left edge.
Yeah, but I took a different route, Magilla.

I'm putting Office 365 back on now, and will try Edge for awhile to see if it's any better.

I did the same today. Overall I wish I didn't but there was no clear answer to this issue. I just hope that this one can be cleared up by time they drop the next insider build.,

Looks as if the WD update problem has been solved. At least in a way. No WD updates being offered for my 16170 PC so far, so nothing to fail.

I hope they actually fixed some issues and bugs with this preview. Namely the backup dropdown menu which doesnt list internal ntfs formatted drives.

So far this isn't a bad build. It's the first step and well.. if it weren't for the issue installing it this would have been more fun.

Wow- this build seemed perfect to me, no problems then action center popped up a new screen that froze the display, can't get rid of it!! Called up task manager, got an empty box! Went to the Hub to report, complete with screenshot, found the Submit button grayed out! The adjacent Cancel button worked like a charm. Hope MS reads this forum:)

Do you remove office 365 when you do update? I had lilies with license key with download assistant and wonder if I should uninstall office before install on win anniversary to creator version. . .
