    Laptop fails again!

Anyone have a wild guess as to why my laptop refuse to update to any major Microsoft Windows 10 Upgrade?

When the TH upgrade came out laptop failed. Had to do a clean install. When the Anniversary upgrade came out, same issue, same fix… clean install. Now the Creators upgrade… same issue… install failed! Which means another clean install just to get the Creators upgrade.

Never issues on the desktop, just laptop - Asus Zenbook Prime (UX31A-DH71) specs: Intel Core i7 3517U (Ivy), 4GB DDR3 RAM, Intel HD4000 GPU, 238Gig SSD drive, Realtek HD Audio. Windows 10 Pro x64 version 1607 (Build 14393.969). Non insider.

Anyway, as usual, it seems I can’t upgrade to latest major build without doing a clean install

I upgraded my old computer (HP DC5800 Microwtower) with no problems. Then I downloaded the ISO and did a clean install, works great on this old beast.

Good. DD/MM/YY drives me nuts. I live in the US and I always liked MM/DD/YY. If you are going to do it with the day first at least spell out the month.
Equally as most of rest of world, I prefer dd mm yy format - far more logical!

Also, if you are going to do it with the Month first at least spell out the Month.

I remember a film (we don't have movies ) where some terrorists were going to blow up some public building on 06/07/20XX and the FBI or similar, put lots of precautions in place and congratulated themselves when June 7th passed without incident and assumed it was all a hoax. It was nearly a month later 6th July, when one of the US guys realised the terrorists were from Europe, and they had got it wrong and only had a few hours left!

I only have one problem. The wireless Display Media Viewer shows no icon.

Doesn't work. Whether I create an ISO or use the Media Creation tool. It won't install on my laptop without doing a clean install. That's the ONLY way I can get the update. Please re-read post.

Anyway I did the update on my backup PC using the MCT tool and all went well. Took about 25 minutes from start to finish. Haven't noticed any issues yet, but that's my backup PC which doesn't have near the programs my main rig has. BTW someone here mentioned Outlook doesn't work. On my Backup System I'm running Office 2010 and Outlook and the other Office Apps appear to be working just fine.

Same here. And when you click it, it just shows a black screen. I'm wondering what it is to be honest because I certainly don't see it on my non upgraded main rig. Though I'm hardwired to my router there.

Google says that it's a common problem to all the people who ugraded. I guess this will be solved on a CU. Also, there's another 'goodie', an app called "Mixed Reality Portal", it doesn't do anything.
