System restore was turned off on my system, all the old restore files removed. Need to turn protection back on and do a manual restore, for those that use it.
Noticed control panel is no longer listed when you right-click the windows logo. Just open the start menu and navigate to the windows system folder, it is in there and you can pin it to the start menu. There are some of us that just like the old-school control panel.
One last note, the update removed my Beats Audio CP item, may have to manually install the driver again, not a big deal, but some folks ran into similar issues with the creator's update.
Turned off System restore was also last year after upgrade to AU, so the same story again and probably in the future again.
It's normal for old restore points to be deleted when upgrading to a new Build. Turning it off, if you had it turned on, isn't a good move though.
I have a fuzzy font issue on some dialog box windows. I reran the Clear type tuner which is much harder find now you have to go into control panel fonts. I reinstalled my video driver Intel HD 4600. I cleared the font cache. Ran the useless sfc /scan now no problems found. Nothing worked. Looked online and all I found were going into DPI setting in the shortcuts menu but the shortcuts dialog box menu has fuzzy fonts too.
Here is the best example I can find.
Very impressed so far with my upgrade installation. I was planning to clean install but now I'm not sure. A few teething troubles aside and I can't fault it. The space used on C drive has dropped by nearly 4Gb, before I had 43Gb of 70Gb free, now its almost 47Gb free. That must be all accumulated OS stuff despite me regularly running full clean-ups. Boot time is marginally quicker, around 10.5 seconds all in compared to around 13 before.
I am truly impressed. My start menu layout carried over along with custom icons and shortcuts.
All seemed to go fine for me
Can someone who uses non US date formats check something
If you open the new Windows Defender Security Centre, on the home screen do you see the correct date formats?
Mine is showing the US format of MM/DD/YY and it should be DD/MM/YY
What I like about this update it makes lighter colors more tolerable with the Night Light.
