Yes im signing in with a Microsoft Account.

Ive found the culprit but its an odd one. The location notification stays on if I open the Action Centre from the task bar and refuses to go off again until a reboot. Must be a bug which will hopefully be fixed soon.

Do you have the "Mixed Reality Portal" (not working app but showing tile) and "Wireless Display Media Viewer" (white tile, not working app)?

Is there any news on the use of just US date format, I will be blocking the update until that's sorted.

I just finished updating one laptop and three desktops. Everything went smooth except the one desktop. I had to run the update twice before it updated. The only difference I can think of is that the desktop didn't have all the latest updates when I ran the Update Assistant.

    Creators Update

I used Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant to download 1703 Build 15063.13 on my everyday laptop. Upgrade took about an hour. After a few reboots and running Disk Cleanup I still had a folder "Windows10Upgrade" in the root directory of C:\ with 29 items in it. All else seemed to be running without any problems.

You should really take a look at the upgrade .log-files as suggested many times before in previous posts/replies to your upgrade issue, and post them here so we can help better. Also check the event log for any errors.

A simple, it does not work or the other computer works fine, is not enough, not much to go from with that information.
On my laptop I pretty much let Windows take care of drivers. And I never "force" drivers on any of my machines.

"A simple, it does not work or the other computer works fine, is not enough, not much to go from with that information" True, it is NOT enough. It's just a comparison to say I don't have this issue with either of my custom built desktops. Simple.

Yeah, I could look at the logs, but in the end I've always found it simple and faster to just clean install since there's nothing on the laptop that can't be replaced from my desktop.

    Thanks.

My hard drive (SSD) is hardwired into the laptop and can not be removed without major soldering maintenance. This is an Ultrabook that was not designed to be "upgraded".

Trust me, if I could easily remove the drive I would have quickly replaced it for a 512gig SSD drive. BTW, the drive is also a proprietary nonstandard size drive to insure you can't easily replace it on this model notebook.

And did you check which apps can access location (Settings / Privacy / Location ) Also there you can clear location history.

    Windows 10 IoT

Just did a clean install on my laptop, it has a Windows 8.0 Core OEM embedded key. I prompted to enter a key, clicked I don't have one, and got the selection screen to pick Home, Pro etc. Installing Pro as I type this. Looks like no more auto detecting Windows 8 keys. This was the "Windows 10" MCT ISO. I like that they did that.

Which key are you going to use? My laptop also has the core embedded Windows 8 key and in the past when I did the same as you for some odd reason 10 Home got installed instead of Pro. Had to use a Win 8 Pro key to upgrade to 10 Pro.

I called MS on this and they were to ones to have me use my Win 8 Pro key, but I wondering if the generic key couldn't be used; thus my question of what key you'll use?

    Thanks
