You must have use the MCT's 'upgrade this PC' option. That works the same way as the Upgrade Assistant, once started best left to get on with it.
Most of that five hours would have bethe download. That's why I prefer to use the MCT to 'make media for another PC' to make a .iso or USB. That way you know the download was successful before you start the upgrade. The actual upgrade itself should take less than an hour. You also get to keep the install media, useful for a reinstall/clean install/use on another PC.
And it only took me about 15 minutes to download the ISO file.
^^^ I probably should have too. It was actually a short download period of maybe 10 or 15 mins, the install and prepping the PC took forever in my opinion. However, it is here and it works. I did a clean install prior to this upgrade just to clean things up a bit.
