    64-bit Windows 10 Pro build 17040

Xbox One 10.0.15063.1005 System Update available March 29th 2017

    OS version: 10.0.15063.1005 (RS2_RELEASE_XBOX_1703.170323-1228) fre

    Release date
    03/29/2017

    Opening the guide
Get to your favorite stuff from anywhere with one push of a button. The Xbox button now takes you directly to the guide, giving you quicker access to your games and apps. To go home, just press the Xbox button and then select Home.

    Beam
Introducing Beam broadcasting, an easy and quick way to broadcast your gameplay so viewers anywhere can watch you play in real time. While you’re playing a game, just launch the guide and scroll down to Beam broadcasting to show off your skills.

    Copilot
Now you can link two controllers and use them as one, with Copilot.

In Settings, go to Kinect and devices > Devices and accessories. Then select Device info > Turn on Copilot, and choose the copilot’s controller. Both controllers now control the game together.

    Achievement tracker
The new achievement tracker lets you keep an eye on your favorite achievements and play at the same time. Move it anywhere on the screen, it’s your call. You also control the number of achievements shown and the transparency level – display it prominently or fade it in to the background.

Press the Xbox button and go to Achievements to turn the tracker on.

    Cortana
Now you can set reminders on your Xbox One so you don’t miss any gaming opportunities. Reminders show up wherever you use Cortana – PC, phone, or Xbox.

Cortana also supports more party controls. Say “Hey Cortana, invite party to game” to add partygoers without having to pause your game.

    Game DVR
We’ve made it even easier to make game clips: just press the Xbox button . From there, your controller’s Y button grabs a screenshot, the X button saves the last 30 seconds, and the View button shows the Game DVR options you know and love, from starting a recording to saving the last 5 minutes of play.

    Screen time limits
Screen time limits let you limit the hours and times of day your child can play. To turn it on, sign in at account.microsoft.com/family and click Screen time for any child account. Then turn Xbox Screen time to On, and set your child's limits for each day. Once your console has the update, it'll start enforcing those limits.

Sorry I'm not home to check but as I recall my Xbox seems to do a daily check for updates every 24 hours. I think it's about 4 am! I could be wrong but unlike Windows 10 there doesn't appear to be a way of forcing a manual check for an update within the settings - or is there a way that I have been missing? Otherwise I'll just let it do it's thing overnight.

The update sounds exciting and I really ought to give the Xbox more of a chance as since buying it almost a year ago have not used it much as I've generally levitated to using the PS4 and mostly the Wii U for games.

Settings > All settings > System > Updates < Something like that, going by memory as its in the middle of updating right now and I don't want to mess with it. If it's in the instant on mode it should auto update even when turned off. If it's in power save (full shutdown) it won't. I think that's the way it goes.

Just finished, nice optional video at the end detailing the changes. I don't remember seeing that before.

Brink's going to have to update his tutorial. The Update menu is different now, "Console" and "Games and Apps" are separate options now. You can turn off Console updates and or App/Game updates. There is a "Keep my console up to date" check box and a "Keep my games and Apps up to date" check box.

EDIT: Console info and updates are now two different menu options.

My XBOX One is my only game console. Lately, though, I've been watching more YouTube on it than gaming, lol.

Cheers mate. I just turned it on and went into system - updates and it immediately said update now ready to download and it all kicked off. Installed pretty quick so all good. Glad that's over. Yes I think it would prob of auto updated at some point overnight but it's nice to get that one crossed off and done. I hope Windows Creators Update when it comes is as smooth as this was!

Yeah, it either immediately toggles or just stays greyed out. New menu now though. It was nice and quick.

I agree, moved around some of the menus and it feels rapid and responsive. MS has certainly got the aesthetics right. It looks slicker than the other consoles. I must actually try and use it now and play a game. I got FIFA 16 with it and then bought Titan Fall 2 and far cry primal a few months back but never got round to playing them yet.

Anybody else notice the File Explorer App? It leads to Documents, Pictures, Videos, etc folders? I haven't tried to move any files there though, only juts discovered it. A Google search turned up this, http://www.windowscentral.com/window...pears-xbox-one I really hope Microsoft allows local storage on the XBOX hard drive.
