It is about time and wait till people, who are not allowed updates on Windows 8, step in as well.

Well, I think its a pile of crap to put it nicely. The lawsuit NOT the O.S. . I've been installing and re-installing every Windows O.S. since 98 and haven't had anything near what these people say/claim they experienced. I've installed 10 on 3 different machines of my own and at least 15/20 times on family and friends machines with nary a problem. One of my machines was/is an old piece of crap Dell (not tested for or recommended for 10 as per Dell) and the only thing that was "broke" was Dell's "extra" touchpad driver.

Some of the claimants seem to be either professionals or semi-pros in their fields who use their machines for work/business. Now I ask you , if you COUNTED on your machine for your bread and butter would YOU install a MAJOR upgrade to anything on that machine, ESPECIALLY an O.S. without BACKING UP?!?! I seem to remember also, that M.S. asked you to run the upgrade advisor too, but its been awhile and I'm a little hazy on that.

Just looks like a money grab on a deep pocket source to me.

Did any of these people read the EULA? I upgraded from Windows 7 Pro x 64 and did not lose anything. I even went back to 7 using Macrium Reflect then went back to Windows 10. The one person took her device to The Geeks Squad..LOL..
MS gives you a free OS and then these people try to sue them for a problem that they themselves probably caused.

How can one agree to something when one was never given a chance to disagree? I went to bed last night running Windows 7, I wake up in the morning with Windows 10. Where was my choice to agree or disagree concerning liabilities and conditions.

That said, I run Windows 10 and I like it, but someone has to put the kibosh on Microsoft's overly aggressive tactics here. From that standpoint, I hope the suit succeeds. That said, I'm sure the loss (if it happens) will be passed on to consumers in some form.

Not everyone runs the latest software or hardware compatible with a new OS. Thus when a new OS is "forced" on an unsuspecting user, and suddenly their programs and hardware no longer work, it's pure frustration. Especially if you've got deadlines or projects due. And not everyone is a PC expert so this can be even more frustrating, and time consuming in trying to get undone something you DIDN'T want... or ask for.

And Just because something is free doesn't mean it can't be detrimental, especially if it doesn't work with your existing system. Imagine your critical piece of software/hardware suddenly no longer working as you wake up to a forced OS upgrade?

And "backups" mean nothing in this instance (forced OS upgrade) if the program for said backed up data doesn't work because of a compatibility issue!!!

And lastly, what do we always tell people before upgrading to a new OS besides backup?.... Make sure your software/hardware is compatible! A forced update basically nullifies that step.
