Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 10166 Insider
-
Where to see M$ announce that?
I'm not sure they actually state it anywhere. The latest ISO is listed as build 10162, that's the last official one to reach the Slow Ring. I'm pretty sure that that's the build you'll get if you upgrade 7 or 8.1 via the insiders page. I was just wondering if anybody did that upgrade versus upgrading the current build via Windows update. I may check it out for myself, at some point. I'm thinking of upgrading my laptop which is running 8.1.

I see. Hope they don't close the door for the new insider!

Even downloading in Sweden and we are usually a few hours behind the rest of you.

Build 10166 ISO done, clean installing on a laptop, a copy of the ISO uploading to OneDrive for safe keeping :)

Behöver man töma om datan för ny builds?

My update settings are still synced with my account and settings so it never starts automatically, have to push Check for updates button all the time. Just checked and it started downloading preceded by a security update. Going at a good clip too.

OneDrive is IMO absolutely the best online storage for personal use, but MS gets suspicious when there are too many downloads from various IPs and different places and might suspend the downloads, in worst case your OneDrive for a while.
They do not want OneDrive to be used for piracy which if you asked me is very OK. In doing so, they sometimes also stop legal and valid shares because, especially when it comes to ISO images, they are easily flagged as "unauthorized software distribution".
That's why I am willing to advise how to create your own ISO image but I will not share mine.
