Good or bad Congress is suppose to set the rules as they have passed Telecommunications acts a few times setting the rules.
They do not want the President (Obama) or the FCC setting rules they were not authorized to do.

I believe your statement not to be accurate, FCC was specifically established to set the rules of Telecommunications as an independent agency (not Congress), it was started to replace the Federal Radio Commission. This has only happened because the FCC is now spearheaded by it's new appointee. This is wrong on all fronts, I deem it nothing more than an invasion of privacy.

The crazy thing about all of this, is that Congress enacted a no-call policy just to deter this same type of thing. It is nothing more than big business buying the US Congress. I laugh when ever I hear how free the United States is, the US is becoming nothing more than a Corporate entity, governed by corporate rules, bought and sold to the highest bidder IMHO.

the liberal media again fires off a one liner, drawing attention from the intent of the legislation. Companies like Google and FB are not regulated by the FCC, so they can do what they want with your info. The broadband co's were restricted from using information for similar purposes, putting them at a disadvantage. It should also give them the right to restrict bandwidth and charge anyone guilty of excessively controlling it. It also makes it easier for law enforcement to gather information about illegal activities without a search warrant. If you're not breaking the law, then what have you got to worry about? Besides, if you want privacy, VPNs are available now at a reasonable price.
