To some extent it is a "pimped" WIndows RT. However, the main difference is that whereas Windows RT could only be used on ARM architecture, Windows Cloud will work on any x86 / x64 machine. When not enough, user can upgrade it to full version. That was not possible with RT.
Yes, and Windows One Core makes all this possible.

I have no use of Windows Cloud, even on a tablet...I need native apps on Windows. If I just want to surf the web, I use Android combined with all Google services (and yes I can run native ELF binaries on Android too if I want/need to).

Only reason I don't own a Windows phone, is because it gives me no what so ever kicks. It's rather a turn off for me. The UI and navigation makes no sense and there's not much I can do on those devices. Makes me sad.

Same goes with UWP Apps. Most of them I have no use of. Even Settings app is not what I would like it to be.

I had a feeling I had overlooked something in my short Windows 10 Cloud test, had to reinstall it now on a VM to see if what I said earlier really is true.

I found out now that I've had a really serious Darwin Awards moment when testing it; apparently I didn't even try native Windows 10 Win32 apps only "deciding" that as they are Win32 they will not work.

    I was wrong.

The reinstall now revealed that all native Win32 apps will work in Windows 10 Cloud. In screenshot Windows 10 Cloud, Device Manager opened in background as an example. In the foreground the message you will get when trying to install or run any third party Win32 app, in this example case I downloaded VLC Player installer and am trying to run it:

My sincere apologies for giving wrong information.

Where can I find it, would like to try in a VM ? Or it sounds like it may work on my old laptop instead of XP.

noise just over a build number

So much noise just over a build number and whether it is RTM or not.

To be honest, I don't give a crap. I put this build on my other laptop, just because I think it is stable enough, and it has the features I want Windows to have. If it's going to be called alpha release or RTM does not matter to me, could not care less. I am much happier with 15063.0, than with 14393.970, and it can only become better from here onwards.

It's a waste of all our times to argue about whos right and whos wrong, and gets me on a bad mood. Either install this build or don't, it is as simple as that. If your current Windows works exactly as you want it to and has the features you need, then don't install anything, maybe try again 5 years from now.

...aaah it feels good to let out some steam...sorry if I offended anyone.
Your'e right man. Nothing else to say.

Think that Project Centennial is intended for porting old application to Windows store, and hence to be able to run on Cloud

Hey - nobody is perfect or else instead of being Tenforum's "Chief Guru", you would be elevated to Tenforum's "Chief God" .

Actually, I am a little confused by your previous post, as the error message seems to contradict what you are now saying.

    Are you saying :

    1) Win32 apps can run - message implies opposite

    2) Win32 apps can run but you will get an irritating message

    3) Win32 aps can run but need to be modied to handle Cloud version.

I am also a bit confused what the Cloud version actually is - is it basically using Onedrive as the storage media for apps etc? I could see this as a possible competitor with Chromebooks etc.

I think @Kari said already what it is...

Windows Cloud is meant to run UWP apps only. UWP apps are Cloud connected apps, hence the name Windows Cloud.
Most UWP apps, as intended to be, are pretty much useless without Internet and connection to the cloud. A Cloud application is something that get's its data from the Cloud, and most data is processed in the Cloud, the application is only supposed to display that final information/data locally.

    Examples:

    1. Mail - Is a cloud app - Data is stored on the mail server, only a fraction(latest) of the mails are retrieved locally for displaying to the user.
    2. Calendar - Is a cloud app - All appointments and other schedules are stored in the cloud (but can be stored locally too)
    3. Weather App - is a cloud app - All weather information is stored in the cloud, and the app only retrieves the relevant information to the user and displays that in appropriate format.
    4. One Drive - is a cloud service - Everything is stored in the cloud and some data can be stored locally for convenience.
    5. ... ... and the list goes on and on ... ... ...

VLC Media Player as UWP, is NOT a cloud app but could be, it is only using UWP container so it can be run on any device.
Calculator, is NOT a cloud app but is a UWP-App, you don't need internet in order to run it and do what is supposed to do with calculators.

Basically a Cloud OS means that every hardcore calculations and data processing are executed in the cloud and the cloud exposes those calculations and the data as services to cloud connected apps, which in turn displays the information.

What UPW does is that it exposes and defines specific interfaces/APIs that each UWP app should use. They don't have to use them all, but what this means is from a programmers perspective, is that you can have one code base that runs on any device of any size, architecture and form factor, and the UWP does all the hard work of data and protocol conversion for you.

YES, Windows Cloud could be compared to Chrome OS

EDIT: Forgot to mention that the best part about a Cloud OS is that you can continue your work on any device, anywhere in the world. Most tasks can be done even in any web-browser.

Of note, after update to 15063.2 on Windows Phone, if you check in Settings>Update & Security>Windows Insider Program you will note that you must re-join the Insiders Program. As I remember the same thing happened when Redstone 1 was released. Thus I'd guess 15063.2 will be the last Creators Update on Windows phone.
