I see. Somewhere, I believe, maybe a Kari post, I read that the official upgrade to public 15063 RTM (if that will be the build) will come down with an install.esd file. If correct, that would be the one I would use to create an ISO for clean install, or any other purpose. I don't have a link to that info, but I'm pretty sure I read that here, on TF.
I'm just going to use this until the official one comes down from MS and when it does that's the one I will use. Right now I don't want to install an older ISO from MS and go through the semi tedious process of upgrading to this build. And I didn't capture the ESD during the upgrade to this build.. so.. I pooped up that part.

I'm just mildly confused, as usual.....
What's the purpose of this ESD and the ability to convert it to an ISO? Does it do anything useful? Or just an exercise.
This is an honest question.......
Well for one thing it contains four indexes for those who want something besides Home or Pro. See my post at: Post #501.

Thanks. Think I'll just wait for the real thing.

How does this make sense ?
First.
Warning against the use of it.
""IMO, I will wait for the official ISO from MS and until then I will totally avoid the one in post #490 and I suggest to anyone else that they should do the same""

Then.
Thanking them for the post to draw attention to it.
""Thanks for the link""

Its is as real as it can be. It is from Microsoft and something of this type time will come via the MCT whenever it is updated. This is the way that Microsoft has done it in the past. Why do you think MS would use server storage space for this type ESD if there was not a purpose?

It made sense when I found out that the source was really ok and I got the conversion tool from a very trusted member..
Any more ??

This not going to help you on the ESD in post #490. This ESD is an encrypted full ESD from a Microsoft server and does not have anything to do with UUP.
I understand that. When I do a clean install it will not be from a converted ESD but from the ISO that MS will release.

If this is truly the case,
the post warning against it should be removed to take away the confusion.
Maybe it's on their servers for pre-release to vendors. Possible?
