The esd posted was a tad different than the one I used

    rs2_release_CLIENTPRO_RET_x64fre

Mine did not have the released clientcombined ??

This ESD is all UUW files so the right tool has to be used.

    I suspect that:
    • Most of the W10 effort was expended "replacing" WinRT with UWP.
    • The rest of the code only received minor rewrites

Studies (for many years) have consistently shown that running as a "Standard" user will mitigate most malware threats, regardless of OS architecture.

MS claims about Windows security improvements seem to be mostly hype (i.e. only some of the statements can be objectively proven).
I'm still waiting for "XP Armageddon".

With the W8 Series and W10, MS made its "own life" more difficult, because now it has to maintain Win32 and WinRT/UWP.

    As for Security:
    • If a user is not making multiple regular backups of their irreplaceable data, they are asking for trouble
    • Regardless of the OS, constantly logging in, and running software, with full Administrator powers is a bad idea (even for experts)
    • Security patches must be applied regularly
