    Exactly.

I am not ashamed to admit I am an almost fanatic Windows 10 fan boy. I wouldn't even dream to run anything else than the most recent Fast Ring builds.

Done that since October 1st, 2014 and build 9841.
Same. I even took my work laptop and formatted and installed 10 on it.

I am lost in Anniversary Update, I can do so much more in Creators Update and things are slowly falling into place. I would never go back. There is still so much to improve. I will definitely keep IP Fast Ring active for RS3 and beyond.

Windows 8.1, 8.0 and 7...NO WAY I will never ever touch those anymore, unless I absolutely must.
    I can use 7 easily enough, 8/8.1 I avoid like a plague.

I too am an avid Insider, but only installed on one computer out of four.
One is a gaming laptop in raid 0, another is Surface Pro 4, the third a dual quick swop Insider/RTM.
Trying to keep up to date four computers on Fast/Insider would really test my patience.
I actually keep all of my personal machines on Insider Fast ring builds. Even the backup laptop that I keep updated but have installed nothing else except Office 2016. But at least it has an SSD.

I'm about to bring a 3 physical machine into the fold, using older hardware, including a Mechanical HD. That is gonna be sloooooooooooowwww

    slicendice said:
Yes, 4 is way too much, too much hassle. Keeping a few that work flawlessly using the RTM builds is always a good idea.

I have 4 computers too, 2 servers and 2 laptops, only 1 laptop is for IP testing. Though that is my main computer. The other laptop is for sharing with family, though I mostly use that one too.
My main desktop, on which I run my VMs, is also my gaming rig. I don't have any servers set up, though.

I would also never go back to Windows 7. The Creators Update is stable and uses less space than the AU. It all is a matter of choice. I will try the RS3 build but it is unclear if I will stay on it. It will probably be out for the fast ring in April sometime.
I'll keep playing with IP builds as long as I am able.

I still have W7 as dual boot and use it occasionally, it's not terrible by any means even compared to W10. There's even XP on a laptop but there I already have to think hard when something has to be changed or fixed.
Lol @ XP - so true. I have to look things up sometimes because I've forgotten how to do things in XP....

I don't physically boot 7 anymore, but I keep a VM handy in case I need to do something and / or need to help someone without remote access.

I DO HAVE a couple of ancient laptops too that I failed to mention, that used to run 7, but In my opinion not even XP SP3 runs good enough on those, so I use them as Linux development machines. Runs smooth as a babys bum.
    There is always that....

I never said it was bad. Win 10 is just better. I have been an insider for over two years and for me to go back to 7 would mean that I wasted two years of my life. Win XP is a safety hazard and should not be used.
lol @ hazard. So true, though.

    - I seem to remember picking up on one of those very early Beta (- or even alpha!) builds..
    - many moons ago..
    - way before tenforums started up..

    - went insider as soon as the reports started to become more optimistic..
    - spent ages on sevenforums as well.. :)

PS - anybody know where I can find any brief on the RS3 program..?

Win XP is a safety hazard and should not be used.
Microsoft has warned people not to use it.
I am trying to figure out how I can boot The AU, The Creators Update and Linux...

XP is still perfectly sound for no risk stuff.

There is no evidence that XP is a hazard.

    Just hearsay.

It may even be safer now when hackers lost interest in it.

With MS's staggered updates you may have to wait few month to upgrade regular way. If you don't get it fast you may as well go for fast or slow insider, it would be same thing.
Thanks for explaining it! Will go for the fast update then. [emoji41]

Microsoft says that it is and are advising people not to use it. I did not just pick this out of the sky.:)

Again, unless you happen to be a government institution that still uses XP for a very specific reason, you need to STOP USING WINDOWS XP. I cannot stress this enough. It's not just that the operating system is old and that there are security issues. It's not just that Microsoft has released three successors to XP. It's not just that new machines are more powerful, have better battery life or power efficiency, and are less expensive than ever before. It's that

Windows XP is not safe to use
Windows XP is not safe to use.
Because XP is so old — and popular — its flaws are better known than most operating systems. Hackers have targeted Windows XP with aplomb for years — and that was while Microsoft was providing security patch support. Without that support, users are vulnerable.
So regardless of the reasons you're still using XP, start preparing to move to a new operating system right now.
Use it if you like but be aware of the consequences..

Yep, always run the fast ring versions on my main machine. Never had a real problem but there is always a Macrium image to fall back on.

The other three comps stay on Au. No reason to waste time on fast tracking them.
