Is there any point in remaining on the Fast Ring? I have forgotten what we did when the anniversary release went RTM.

Well, you should not use the Insider as your main install. Quite a few people fell into the trap of joining Inider, getting the AU build and forgetting to turn off Insider, getting upgraded - which meant they were locked in until now with CU if they had not made a backup of the AU build, or else clean install.

So if you intend to use CU as main install now, I would leave the IP, and juts keep an eye on the IP - you can always rejoin later.

I'm using exclusively insider versions on this main computer and didn't regret it yet. At no time it stopped me from doing everything or anything.

Nah, you are just normal! When it comes to brain-cell killers, many of us are (or were, or posthumously) infected by the idea, "Eye-e-e-e-e jus' doan karre...! No madder how-w-w-w mudge Eye hafve to d'i-i-ink-y-poo, Eye kin steal vunction jus' vine, tanks! *HIC!*"... European highways are littered with roadside cross-n-candle displays that argue otherwise, of course. (Wish we did that in the states, really--it's such a potent reminder--much better than a sterile "Drive with caution" sign, eh?)

Drink or no, the one true axiom is that the more we learn the more we forget. I think of all the neurons in my life that I have dedicated to Operating Systems that are now extinct or obsolete or both...! Gaaaa!

    Windows 10 Pro,

The upgrade/install to this build was fast, painless and easy, even on the slow lane.

I dropped back to the slow ring, intending to take a break as up to that point it had taken weeks before a "stable" build would show up on the slow ring, so I thought to avail myself of a slower pace with only "stable" builds from then on. Ha! As if reading my mind, Microsoft pulled a fast one (because evidently a lot of people had the same idea I did) to get the Fast Ring hopping again after the Anniversary build: although I can no longer recall particulars like build numbers or just what the bad bug was (maybe relating to game support, I cannot recall), what happened was that Microsoft dropped a fairly buggy Fast Ring build onto the Slow Ring, while at the same time putting a much newer and more stable build on the Fast Ring. So my choice was that I could stay on the SR and live with what I knew to be a serious, pretty much show-stopper bug for me--or else hop back on the FR and leap ahead of the build with the major bug. So I went back to the FR and have stayed ever since. They got me, the monsters!...
