I had a strange update loop for /15058. After a very quick completion of the first download to 100%, it restarted the download sequence again taking much longer to finish.

    - initializing update

I encountered an - user generated - update error. The restart didn't result in an install of the new /15058 build.

... because I totally forgot about the - only - 60 GB space of my VM.

Fixed it by deleting all contents of the > Download folder. Because I have copied the VM's over and over again to the latest update /15055, my VM disk was cluttered with update files. Rebooted and initiated the update for build /15058 yet again.

So now starting the update all over again, shall finish it tomorrow.

It still has a two-run update cycle as in my previous post, now starting for the 3rd run. With every added run, the size of the folder increases. Anyone else had this 'issue'?

    Cheers

off-topic: the Dutch elections turned out oke after all, so no "burning down the house" Nexit for us. At least for the short term.

I always take all the pinned items on the start menu off, and use it more like the old start menu, with only a scrolling list of programs.

On this build, it has nothing pinned, and yet there is a blank spot for metro app pins that I could before reduce to not show at all. See screenshots.

Most fun when I have a problem, ask for help and than solve it myself before anybody responds.

You can grab the right side edge like you would when resizing any normal window and drag it to the left.

    - I'm still bogged down at the same Error message..
    - retry, retry, retry - gets a bit frustrating..

    - it's almost as though a component is missing in my current installation.. (??)
    - currently I have 15055 auto-updated from 14295.. I reckon there's a link missing somewhere..

I think that's been there for a while; I'm on AU and I have it.

Try to get you hands on ISO or esd from 15058 and perform an inplace upgrade. Kari, TC and maybe someone else have backups on Onedrive (or similar), someone will respond if you ask...

Or wait for MS to put new ISO out for insiders. 15058 seems like a good candidate :)
