The UUPtoISO didn't work for me. When I tried to copy and paste the files my download was the one with to many files.

OK Kari. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
First, please allow me to ask what is the logic behind asking questions about a certain tutorial by posting those questions in some other threads? Sorry guys but I have never understood it, like those threads a member starts with sentence "I did this and that as told in one of your tutorials but it didn't work", without even naming the tutorial in question.

How difficult would it be to post a tutorial related question in that tutorial thread, so that I or any other tutorial maker would not need to browse through all threads to find the issues?

I am doing long days trying to keep these tools up to date and inform our members about them, about issues, bugs, if they are working or not and so on but I do that in those tutorial threads. Of course if you do not subscribe a tutorial thread you won't be informed if / when something changes.

From now on I will completely ignore any ESD to ISO or UUP to ISO questions outside respective tutorial threads.

    Just saying...

OK, @Winuser there's no need to copy any files as you mention, which indicates that you are using an old version of the tool. Have you read the UUP to ISO tutorial during the past days? Have you seen this note in huge font at the beginning of it:

    Note   Note
    PLEASE NOTICE:

At the moment the UUPtoISO tool in tutorial does not work. A working tool is going through some testing, tutorial will be edited when all is clear.

See this post for instructions to test current test version of the tool.

This notice will be removed when tutorial is once again up to date.

The post linked to in the above note quoted here:

OK "beta testers", please test and give feedback. Download latest version: UUPtoISOSetup.exe

File is digitally signed, no Windows Smart Screen complaints. To keep track and make things a bit easier I started versioning this, the one downloadable now is version 2.2.

    Changes:
    • UUPtoISO can be installed anywhere you want to
    • Installation and Start Menu folders can be named as you wish
    • Tool is now an application (.exe) allowing a Start Menu launcher and desktop shortcut being created when installing, allowing pinning a Start tile, and allowing uninstall normally from Settings > Apps or Programs and Features
    • No copying or moving files anymore, you can make ISO simply by pointing UUPtoISO to UUP folder in C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download before preforming the upgrade, or the same folder in Windows.old if you have already upgraded

If you decide to test please read very short and simple Quick Start.pdf first, it can be found in UUPtoISO folder after installation. Here's the PDF in case you want to read it before downloading and installing: Attachment 124900

    All feedback welcome.

That current version of the tool works perfectly.

This was the last ISO making related reply from me in this thread.

To truthfully answer your questions, No I didn't. I didn't see the post about the program being updated so I used the method I knew about.

VM got stuck at 80% installing and is in a loop. I'll try to upgrade the main machine tomorrow.

Wouldn't do me any good. I would probably just ignore it like I do with most of my notices.

It was fast for me. Seven minutes to download and twenty-four minutes to install.

I just had a flashback to my old dial-up days. It use to take me days to download a Linux Mandrake ISO.

The thing is, I really work my a** off to keep these tools working and tutorials updated.

Don't take this wrong, I am simply telling how I feel but when users thinking like you do not even bother to check if there has been updates, then post in other threads about "Kari's tool is not working", it makes me mad and not only that, it gives a wrong message to others reading that post. Like in this case, the fault was not in a method and / or tool not working, the fault was a user not bothering to check the facts.

Ignorance is bliss, they say. I'm not sure if that's true.

I repeat: both ESD to ISO and UUP to ISO tools work perfectly with build 15058 upgrade files.

    Very sincerely,

    Kari
