GOt one done all ok in about 15-20 mins. It's the main gaming machine that's fine - phew. Just our weak living room BRIX to go stuck on getting windows ready for an age as usual.

Will creators update be as much fun as this!!!?
Small sample size here in this thread but it appears that it doesn't matter how much time MS takes to prepare updates, some machines will be problematic and others not. I put together a system from old parts for my brother and since he's offline I'll have to update manually from the Catalog. If the manual updates go well I may go that route for this machine as well, especially for the Creators update.

Start button doesn't do anything. Edge not opening with "class not registered) error. Did the update thru WU and also with the stand alone updates. Same thing. Anyone got a fix for this? Thanks.

My desktop and lappy updated in about ~35 minutes. All seemed normal. On my lappy, I continued on with some work after the update and had to do a restart, now it has been showing "Getting Widows ready, .......) for the last 20 minutes.??

UPDATE: After 30 minutes, it once again completed the install ?

Have 2 systems automatically updated successfully, 3 to go, so far so good.

I always manually download the updates from the catalogue, install them, reboot, then run windows update to see if I missed anything else.

That method always works best for me.

Took a long time to install (45min between download and restart I think), but everything seems fine here.
Yes, one of the lengthiest updates in my recollection.

Once again, Disk Clean-up shows the familiar 3.99TB of updates to clean up. It has been working away for over an hour deleting all the hard links (multiple pointers to the same physical file) that cause this apparently impossible anomaly.

Update: just finished, took an hour an a half to clean up.
