    anyone having problems with shut down just started doing this after latest update
    on clicking on shut down in menu laptop seams to shut down the screen is black and no fan on but the lights are on on the front of laptop and the on off button is still lit up.
    the only way to start it up is to keep finger on button till the lights go out then press again to start up

    Try this, it can be reversed. It will turn off Fast Startup.

    At command prompt, copy/paste this, then enter:

    Turn On or Off Fast Startup in Windows 10

    powercfg -h off

    To turn it back on:

    powercfg -h on

    May help nothing, but Fast Startup seems to be a hit or miss thing. It works, then doesn't, then does.

    Gotta use an Administrator Command prompt, elevated command prompt. If that doesn't work, your system doesn't support hibernation anyway. I think.

    worked with admin prompt
    C:\WINDOWS\system32>powercfg -h off

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>powercfg -h on

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>
    i'll try a shut down and see what happens

    Uh..... you want to do just the OFF and restart, not both together.
