As long as Microsoft does not change their policy for not allowing built-in admin account to use UWP apps, IE is and will remain in Windows 10, at least until it will be replaced with another native Microsoft Win32 browser.

Sys admin needs to have access to Internet through IE for at least to download and install a third party browser. I am 100% sure it's this plain and simple: IE cannot be completely removed.

OK, then I must have misinterpreted something in the post that I quoted in the first place.

It's what I get for reading the forum partially in Tapatalk and coming home to read the rest of it much later on the computer lol.

I'm not saying you read anything wrong

No, I just think that your test on new VM will show it's there, IE has not vanished. I would fully understand if Microsoft decided to change IE's status from native Win32 app to optional feature, but the fact that built-in admin cannot use UWP apps like Edge kind of forces Microsoft to offer an alternative, keep IE available.

Exactly. And since this machine always has to use audit mode to move the Users tree to a second SSD, well, it may be forcing it on my machine every time and have nothing to do with logging in to my M$ account, then.

That is surprisingly logical (not meaning surprisingly logical from you, I mean generally ).

I have to admit I have not thought of that explanation. Might explain my situation, too: I have IE on all systems, it's just there, but as you know I sysprepp Users folder to another drive, too, every time I install, doing it in Audit Mode using built-in admin.

    10 preview 64bit

IE11 has been moved to Programs/features>> features, with the normal check option on/off.

    I have
set it to off from the first IP,
    only use a local account,
    allways go the WU route.

That might explain why my downloads are on average 2/3 slower than most, it has to re-enable it then dissable it??
