I haven't seen a single ad ever since the initial install on all my machines. You know the live tiles, that you just have to unpin. That has been it.
Probably because I use the same Microsoft account on all machines, and sync the settings, so all the "informational ads" settings are turned off before Win10 even gets to the desktop the first time. Those who use Local accounts, get what they deserve

Pretty much the same here. Although I don't sync everything between every machine. Also have some local accounts and wasn't bothered there also.

Good to know If after turning it off in file explorer, they still show, maybe we EU folk have better cards8consumer protection). Just a hypothesis until someone(from EU) says otherwise.

I don't see any either....but I use an add blocker (not sure if that has anything to do with it). What I do see from time to time is that damned Edge popup....telling me Edge is x times faster then Chrome and FF.

But none the less, I did uncheck that box for "show sync provider notifications".....nice tip!

I've not seen anything in Explorer at all, I do have the option in the settings, (which I switched to off yesterday), I also run either Pro or enterprise on all my systems which may have a more significant effect on any ads (or infomercials), I may see or not by being in the EU, (for a while anyway )

I knew I read it somewhere:
Earlier this week on Reddit, poster Tall_Ships_for_Life drew interesting comments about the setting. Apparently the ads don’t appear in European versions of Windows 10 (although there’s a confirmed sighting of File Explorer ads in the United Kingdom) and the ads don’t appear in Windows 10 Enterprise.

Depends on how you log on. If you use a local account instead of an MS account, you will probably not see the ads.

PS: I "disabled" this issue when brink released the tutorial -------

I got it on a local account, only on the one PC though, which I had just done a clean install on. No sign on the other two PC's however I've disabled it anyway. Note: I'm in the UK so obviously not immune ;o)
