It seems that my VM-WIN10-15031u has returned from the living dead. After planning to install the /15046 update - skipping the /15042 - my Windows Update warned me about a pending update. I never got this message before, even after 3 reboots in the previous cycle(s) I tried to get the /15042 update installed.
So pushed the button et-voila!:
Resulting in updating my copied VM (/15031 to) VM-WIN10-15042u right now! As it seems that I'm back on track now, I'll just carry on as usual with my UUP update cycle from VM-WIN10-15002 to now ~15046. Great job MS, keep you posted.
Cheers
Another build that just popped up when I woke up this afternoon... I like these updates lately! The one issue is trying to get the Defender icon in the taskbar not to have a warning.
Hyper-V downloading 15046 now.
EDIT: Using ESD method. install.esd is there now.
EDIT 2: Making ISO now in VM.

Successfully created a Build 15046 in a VM and have burned it to a DVD for use in re-installing to my physical machine. One of my objectives is to ensure that the new Product Key which appeared unbidden by me is still good for activation. I'm not sure anybody else has gotten this gift. I have upgrade keys from Windows 7 Windows 8 and Windows 81. purchased when Technet subscriptions didn't cost thousands of dollars. I'm much happier using a genuine Microsoft DVD and only used Russian sites when Microsoft made it difficult or impossible to obtain a "genuine" one.
I'll start the uplgrade after I finish a Virtual Lab on Windows 10 and Windows Serverr 2016 virtualizations.
