Machine #1 is now up and running 15042 (as verified by winver, no watermark here either).I used Kari's UUP to ISO tutorial on Machine #2 and it seemed to work. Am writing the iso to a USB stick now. If this works, that would prove to me that MS has disabled the UUP off registry hack.
Note: I DID verify before the download started that UUP was turned OFF on both machines.
PC locked up on one of the restarts at about 40%
so back on the older version.
Took about an hour to desktop, I already miss the watermark.
Because the majority of Insiders in the Fast ring have PCs running 64-bit (x64) – we decided to go ahead and release this build with 32-bit PCs blocked until our next flight.
Odd - this x86 version received a 2GB download which appears to be the 15042 packages
If blocked, why bother to send all the files? The $Windows.~BT folder is still growing - now at "preparing to install updates 45%" I wonder how far it will get before aborting?
$windows.~BT\sources\safeOS\SafeOS.mount is inflating:
shall I restart?
Just a heads up.. when upgrading the first boot does a lot of post-install configurations... if it seems stuck just let it be... MS would rather you have the Desktop than show the progress circle... the reason it finally works as expected after a few reboots, is that the background installation has finally completed.
BTW: So no watermark = Creators update?
