Just want to say that "Waterfox" is slick. Can't tell the difference.
WaterFox is fine. I also used CyberFox for a while because it was updated more quickly than WF. Eventually I went back to Firefox because of subtle compatibility issues I had with the others, but they remain viable alternatives. Note that they closely follow the Firefox upgrade schedule so anyone who wants to stay with a specific version will have to disable updates.

I don't see any difference either. It's like Firefox with a different name, but everything else the same. Even bookmarks and settings from FF. So if no difference, are there any reasons to use WF instead of FF while the latter still works OK?

Just telemetry being nixed, and perhaps some preformance enhancements (but those could be done in about:config under Firefox).

Here's the big downfall. If you want to avoid XUL-ageddon, Water/Cyberfox will have no choice but to go that way, being so closely tied to Firefox. Pale Moon might be an option here, but up until recently, there were BIG issues in Facebook. It kept refreshing theatre-mode images and videos, loading them repeatedly. That has now been fixed, but staying on a browser rebased from Gecko v38 can have it's own issues too.
