February 2017 security update release delayed
-
Good I hate patch Tuesday. I am all for useless updates being delayed if they cause more problems then they so call fixed and I would not lose sleep if they went away forever. With a strong AV like NOD32 and a great router like Netgear N7000 I have not gotten infected or hacked even my parents who play shady flash games and get phishing emails were fully protected.

I mean, complainers will complain. No matter what. If the thing gets released andhen re-patched, wow, armaggeddon. If not, wow, the same.
Just chill, people. Is your W10 having any issues at the moment? I guess not. The thing will come when it gets ready.
I can't speak for anyone else here, but perhaps some aren't really complaining in a selfish way. In my case, I have to schedule down time for updates at my organization, which is why I posted a concern about how it would be nice if Microsoft could give us an estimated time of release for the patches.
Last I heard, it should be next week.

I was trying to make the same point, it's not that I am upset that buggy updates were delayed, that's good. But the whole attitude of it'll be ready when it's ready doesn't really work for business. One big point I would like to raise is that now we have an outdated Flash version in Windows 8.1/10 that could be compromised if the current version is reverse engineered to see what flaws was fixed.

Oiler does the flash update work for Edge too? Thanks for mentioning that... I was meaning to get that today.

In the meantime, use Firefox browser where you can download the flash player update.

It feels like the people at Microsoft are still on Christmas break. Haven't heard much from them since then.
I agree!

THANK YOU MICROSOFT FOR NOT ROLLING OUT
THE SECURITY PATCHES UNTIL ANY BUGS ARE FIXED!!!
This is a GOOD move and will save people lots of headaches and frustration in the end.

I skipped most of these posts, but a 1 GB security update... Seems more likely to be a cumulative update. They may even change the update KB by the time it is released. But Friday is not out of the question... it has happened before.

Most business use a patching solution like WSUS or SCCM, so they can control the deployment of the patches.
I rarely have ever had a problem with patches on patch Tuesday. Both my Windows PC's and my Mac have been just fine after running patches.
Keep in mind, these bugs that MS finds, may be very small things. For example, if you have Anniversary Update 1, Office 365, and a logitech mouse, you might have encountered an install problem. Microsoft certainly isn't intentionally pushing out stuff that breaks 100% of their user base without a care in the world.

Microsoft to delay its February patches to March 14
