As appears to be the case nowadays, Microsoft releases as little info as possible. Would it compromise security for Microsoft to let customers know, "We anticipate rolling out this month's update later today." Or, "...later this week." Or, "...later this month." Or, "...not until next patch Tuesday on March 14."

    I know, right. QFT.

Even just a little note saying something along the lines of "we'll provide an update on the status of monthly updates, later today" would be nice.

Yes that would be a good move. I'd like to know when to clear a window in my calendar for them. At the moment they could just appear when least expected which can catch people out. If I was on my machine quickly and getting ready to turn off and go out or attend to something it wouldn't be appreciated if these came tumbling down the pipe out of nowhere. I don't expect they will elaborate though

Exactly. Microsoft doesn't care how the end user might be affected.

They may care a little. They delayed releasing today's patches out of concern they would negatively affect customers. That's a lot better than throwing out known problem patches.

Here we go again, there are those that complain when bug ridden security updates are released.
Then others moan because updates are not delivered at a certain time, so buggering up their scheduled to the second life planning, like knowing when to turn on their computer just to install an update.
To all those moaners I say, get a life.

I think people like myself like to know what to expect. I'm glad they are holding off as bugs are terrible to deal with but it would be good if they gave an approx timeline. I get very little spare time with the children being so young and demanding so am always snatching at pc time - just be keen to get an indication is all. But hey ho no worries - I'll keep monitoring this forum as always. It's always the best place to stay informed! Cheers
