Do these problems exist if Fences is not running?
Unfortunately yes, I uninstalled Fences, rebooted and the issue still remained.

Well the good news is that Fences' sluggish behaviour is fixed, the bad news is that new bugs that are far worse have been introduced:

Middle clicking a link in Waterfox is doing nothing, link doesn't open, neither does ctrl + left click, only option is to right click and choose open in new tab.

Right clicking programs/folders on the task bar does nothing, only search/start can be right clicked.

Clicking the clock to expand it (or right clicking it) does nothing.

Edit: Just switched to a "clean" admin account that has never been used and these problems don't seem to exist, so I guess it's some issue in my user account that suddenly arose, that sucks Will try a clean boot.
What kind of mouse? Brand name or generic brand?

Generic, it's not the mouse though, right click works in other places as mentioned.

I had issue with defender. When scanning, reported hadn't scanned since 8th. But mid scan it said it had scanned twice today and the current green bar that shows scan progress stopped and stated scan finished and no issues found. My definitions were updated and no problem with that.

I think my anti-virus is the one part of Windows/software in general, that should not be buggy these days
It must have something to do with them linking & rerouting to the new UWP WDSC(Windows Defender Security Center).
I hope there isn't any hidden bugs with Windows Firewall too, as that is being rerouted too

May also be tied to recent security update (for non insiders) problems and it's withdrawal, citing delivery problems.

    Hi Cliff, well put!

Yeh, some core system applications and services are indeed not working as advertised, but I still very much enjoy myself being on the Insiders Fast Ring.

Because of these issues with WDA/WDSC, I always install in a VM and rely on my ESET Smart Security software when previewing a new clean installed and/or updated Windows Insiders Preview build#.

    Cheers

The good thing is, I have my checkpoints, and even a couple of exports on my F: drive in a partition for System Images and Hyper-V exports, but still, seeing that I can drag & drop between host and VM, means malware could move between the two also when the VM is running, or in File Explorer, move about in the Network tree using my router
Good that my modem-router is locked nice and tight, but....(I won't say it).
