Before I go any further I want to make sure I'm right. I downloaded the Windows 10_InsiderPreview_x64-us_10162.iso to my hard drive and then copied it to a thumb drive (I could have simply downloaded it to the thumb drive). I now should down all of my apps, click on the file and choose to run as administrator. In a short while it will shut down my computer and then install the update. I won't do it if someone says that's not the way or tells me how to do it. I think I did it that way on one of the earlier ones and it worked but I could be wrong.
If you want to update your existing installation (vs. clean install) you don't even have to burn the iso to DVD/USB - you can just mount it - right click on the iso file and select 'mount'. It will appear as a dvd drive in Explorer. Go to the mounted drive and just run setup.exe. That's how I've been doing (when the Update mechanism didn't quite work). Saves a DVD ;-)
If you are doing a "clean install" you need to use a small utility like Rufus to make the thumb drive bootable.

That is one way of doing it if you want to upgrade or do a clean install by overwriting your existing OS. JUST MAKE SURE TO BACKUP ALL YOUR FILES if you are going to do a new installation. It will get wiped out. But you don't have to put it on the USB flashdrive. It will be 10x SLOWER that way. Just leave the ISO on your hard drive, right click on it and select "Mount". Then double-click "Setup" from the next pop-up window. You can skip updates if you want.
Hello guys!
Why I cannot get the 10162 from windows update? I'm in Fast ring and stuck at 10159.
Thanks for your help!

You may try to get teh ISO itself: Windows 10 build 10162 ISOs Released - Windows 10 Forums
There's really nothing we can do to help push the updates on your PC. It's a waiting game for most people. But you can download the 10162 ISO from MS and take it from there.

Indeed! I am still running 10158 as an upgrade over Windows 7. The whole upgrade process went smoothly and all my previously installed programs are running perfectly. As a consequence, I don't plan to chase all these new Builds coming out, as I doubt they would tell me anything I don't already know.
