Unfinished ? According to MS it will never be finished for some time to come because it will be updated/upgraded all the time on continuing basis with those updates coming to insiders first. As I'm concerned, everything works on a par with 8.1 and drivers are quite compatible with drivers for W8.1 and most even with W7.

Why would you assume its an unfinished product? Just because RTM happens before the GA doesn't mean the RTM is unfinished. They have to get before the GA date so they can test it and install it on mew PC's.
Not only that, Alpha, but distribution has to happen after the new PCs are imaged with Windows 10. I knew I was forgetting something.

You know . . . Office Depot, Staples, Sam's Club, Fry's, Costco, etc., etc.! And the list goes on! Betcha UPS and FedEx will be busy little beavers around July 20 at least. :)

Looks like they've already been hard at it, which may speed up RTM, rather than slow it down. :)

From this, it looks as if even the "brand new" stuff will have been tested and found compatible . . . The main thing that may turn up will probably be printers. I know HP is notorious for not building new drivers; however, my HP Officejet 7610 (very wide bed) installed beautifully as a wireless printer! I would have had to stay with a version of Windows 8.1 if it hadn't!
At one time you'd be scouring the web for a leaked RTM ISO just to get a look at the next new OS. The Insider Preview option changed all that, for the good IMHO.

My HP all in one and my Wireless HP laser printer install in the background in Windows 8.1. I don't have to install anything which is fine with me because I hate all the bloat that installs with the HP supplied drivers. I have one or two buttons on my all in one that don't do anything but I can access those functions via the scan App anyway.

Oh, I see, it's my bad! Sorry. So it looks like we're going out of CP. But it will take very long though... As they are planning next update after release scarcely at fall... Thanks for your correction anyways!
Yes, CP is being deprecated, but I think it's going to be a long drawn-out process. But build after build, you can see things disappearing from CP and that functionality (more or less) appearing in Settings.

Exactly, it has to be tested, then an image made, then installed on all the new stock, then boxed and shipped to retailers. They aren't going to wait till the last minute. At some point a line is drawn in the sand, and they commit to production.

The Microsoft Worldwide Partner Congress 2015 starts on Sunday July 12th. I bet that during the five days of the WPC 2015 an RTM is released, a version to the manufacturers.

I am so sure about this that I am willing to bet: If not, if I am wrong, I will not touch a drop of whisky in a year a month a week two days!

Yes sir, I have been doing that religiously. lol. I even have been adding reputation to the ones submitted. I also did a search for color title bar and found one with 936 requests to yes on that request. So I don't understand why they removed it. I mean in W7 it was perfect. Then in W8 they got rid of a lot of the features like resizing your caption buttons and scroll bars and such, and in 10 now its totally gone. Like why can't we customize the O/S to how we visually like it. Some people don't have amazing eyes. *sigh*
You still don't seem to grasp what Windows 8.x and 10 are. They are not a new version of Windows 7. It's an entirely new OS called WinRT. It still has a newer version of Windows 7 in there for compatibility reasons, but they aren't doing much to improve on that.

The point here, is that WinRT is the new OS, and it's still in development and probably will be for the next 10 years. WinRT doesn't have all the functions of Windows 7, such as Aero Glass, or system wide colored titlebars. So, rather than have Win32 apps look one way, and WinRT apps look another, they removed the features that WinRT doesn't support from the Windows 7 UI for consistency. Eventually, we will probably see these features return when the features are written for WinRT.

You're going to keep seeing things removed from the Windows 7 (Win32) side over time as WinRT moves toward parity with Win32.

I'm hoping for July 12 so they can start on Monday. That would be nice for a certain denizen of TenForums.
