Windows 10 build 10162 Released

1) Still there is "an application preventing my computer from shutting down or rebooting". Nine out of ten times, or 99 out of 100, this application is the "Program Manager". It proceeds after a couple of seconds or if I force it. I do not know why this is happening. Any ideas?

2) The text blurriness in all those Windows components, like the Device Manager, the Task Scheduler, the Windows Firewall, the Resource Monitor, and many more, still exists at 125% "zoom". I'm not expecting them to correct/fix this, I have to mention it though.

3) When trying to "Change only the text size" from Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display, after setting for example the Title bars and the Menus to "12", when I set the next available feature to "12", as well, the text in the menus returns to "9", or anyway decreases its size. Does this happen to you?

These are the things I have observed so far. But I really like this build!

1) I see the same after having tried builds 10158, 10159 and 10162 (all of them clean installed). Apart from the mysterious Program Manager (at least, I don't know what it is), I usually also spot DDE Server Window preventing my system from being shut down or restarted. They've improved the speed of those tasks a little in spite of it, though.

2) I would have to try it, which brings me to...

3) I believe it's working properly on my end. I'm not at my computer now, so I'll make sure to check out later. However, a bug I've noticed on and off is that after changing the general zoom of the system with a custom one (e.g. 115%), we can't change the size of different elements such as Title bars, icons, etc, because they are greyed out. I believe it's back in 10162.

Apart from this, I've noticed a rather peculiar bug with this build (remember, clean install). I have the time format set at 24 hours. Ok, once I'm already with the system on and I've signed in to my Microsoft account, if I lock the screen I can see the time formatted correctly (24 hours). On the other hand, however, when I boot into Windows for the first time, I restart it, or if I sign out and then in back again, in all those cases when I reach the Lock Screen, the time is formatted in the 12-hour setting.

I've already submitted all those bugs.

How can you not understand it? I've said it a million times. WinRT (Universal apps) are an entirely new Operating System that just runs side by side with the old OS.

Did you notice a while back that Desktop apps titlebars looked a little different from Universal Titlebars? That's because each OS has their own separate code to render these. They removed the customizability from the Desktop apps because that functionality does not exist in the Universal apps. This was for consistency, so they looked the same.

Otherwise you would have apps that have glasss, and Universal apps that don't... They don't want that kind of confusion.

Let me repeat. They didn't REMOVE it from Universal apps, it's never existed in Universal apps, and rather than have two separate UI's, they wanted them to be consistent.

It takes about 10 - 20 seconds from welcome screen to the desktop on my machine. Anyone experiencing this? Please share if there is a fix for this. It happens in the previous build also. This is from a clean install. When I upgrade from 10147 to this build it doesn't happen at all.

But I am not concerned about APPS. I'm going to delete them all anyways. My main concern is the Windows. A lot of us have multiple windows open doing multi-tasking and its hard to tell which windows you have active and which you don't because they are all simply white. To strip a color of the title bar is favoring their useless store apps, which there should be a separate setting for. It's very hard to see when everything is white at the top.

I'm just happy Microsoft is listening to user feedback. W10 might not get everything we want, but they have really tried and listened and it contains so much based on feedback. Looking forward to this being everywhere and lots more of my apps becoming universal

Just so you know, in Windows 10, all windows are active; it's just the click or key focus changes.
You can scroll through a document in File Explorer and be typing in a post here on W10F at the same time.

I am happy that the issue about ejecting an USB MASS STORAGE DEVICE (HDD) has been solved (since 10159)
SYSPREP with COPYPROFILE still causes a loop when deploying the image! - can't wait that this one be solved!

Then why are you even bothering? Why not stay with Windows 7 if all you want is Win32 apps? There is nothing in Windows 8, 8.1 or 10 for you, and there will never be anything for you in any future version of Windows until you are forced to give it up because the apps you DO want to use no longer work.

Yeah, I really don't get that mentality. The new system was created for a touch friendly environment and the advancement of modern computing in mobile form factors. If you don't share these ubiquitous experiences, why are you even bothering with this os?

If it were up to me i'd get rid of the title bars for more space, but we'd have no means of moving windows around. That and closing the window or adjusting size is all they're good for and and all they need to do for me. I can tell which app/program/window I want by clicking it with a mouse or touch on a tablet.
