At first glance the McD coffee lawsuit seemed frivolous but if you actually do a little bit of research you'll find that it really wasn't.
Nothing to stop dishonest people. I got a check from Levi's for bluejeans in one case. I had to estimate how many pairs I had purchased for my kids when they were growing up. I personally don't wear bluejeans. In another case, I got a check from Red Bull or one of the other energy drink companies. I don't drink energy drinks but had to estimate how many had been purchased for the household since my wife and kids drank them.
How about those that came with pre-built PCs? I still have mine that's been used since 2008 and is still rocking like new.
So far, I like NavyLCDR's response the best. Me, neither! Plus, the amount of work involved would be way more than the dozen or so media players I purchased during that period. Good for a laugh, though: thanks!

How come the UK is not included as I built several computers at that time and had to buy all the DVD players to put in them
I bought 4 internal units from Newegg during that period, but only 1 (NEC) is among the covered manufacturers listed. 3 were Lite-Ons.
6 Desktops/laptops
7 stand-alone drives
indeed I submitted
Have proof of purchase for all of them
bring it on :)
