This is a test message with double space. Hope we don't get any asterisks* this time.

    Edit: NOPE, still there!

AHAH! We get those asterisks when we have a typo and use backspace or use the mouse to correct at the correct place.

My Edge seems fine. Not creating *** BUT more important, no incidents in Reliability Monitor anymore!

EDIT: I was wrong, see my*next post (reply)!

I think what he meant is that typing in double spaces instead of single spaces when writing a post in Edge will remove the asterisk problem.

eventually got this update it was on 3 hrs initializing so disabled uup . then only took an hr to download and install.
uup seams to be taking longer to work.
so far the only thing not working was synaptic touchpad driver that windows update puts on
now working again after installing newer driver

I tried to install 15025 last night, took a long time to begin as has been well noted in this thread. Finally got going and at some point it failed. I ended up non-bootable so did a reset which brought me back to 15019.

Now I can't change the Insider ring from Slow to Fast so I can't try 15025 again. The option is greyed out.

Using the settings or registry edit has no effect. If I change WIS to WIF it reverts to WIS.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I'm running sfc /scannow at the moment just for something to do.

I had the same issue yesterday, got that MS account verification again (2nd time) and entered my password. After that I had access again the IP settings and change the ring to FAST!

Just run into same problem as before. I soon as i tried to insert a picture, browser (any) would close and only computer restart helps.

Thanks for the calm and reasoned reply Winona. :)
I am forced to disagree with:[/quote]

See, now, I could say that all those who skip Builds for whatever their reasons are "wimpy Insiders" because they skipped a Build or three, since UUP isn't working as it should, but I try my best not to offend anyone, although that's well nigh an impossibility.

    Fafhrd said:
...because "whatever their reasons are..." include builds that fail to download/install properly - such as the UUPs recently, builds that inexplicably crash computers on bootup, builds that have intolerable problems with certain graphics etc., or other hardware on certain machines - in which cases the only resort is to roll back, and wait for a new build that does not fail for those reasons - or as I have done once, go out and upgrade a piece of hardware that was conflicting, not necessarily before a build or two had passed on by.

Heck, a build or two has passed me by just by the sheer pace that the team drop them down to us!

If the Insider's reasons are out of necessity and not by choice, they cannot avoid missing certain builds until something changes. Nowt wimpy in that!

If that means MS offering alternative delivery methods, I guess that's OK, and I guess that the ability to use ESD alternatives lets them off the hook - but not forever.

I, and probably many others would prefer that MS released ISO downloads for every build, but it would be too easy to just rely on the ISO to "test the meat and 'taters", without visiting the eatery and checking out the service and facilities too.
The argument can still be made that Microsoft puts it out for testing by Insiders, and if we don't test each and every Build, we're not "doing our jobs" properly. So far, I haven't missed testing a Build because I couldn't get it, or didn't want to test that one because someone said it's got too many bugs.

I'm not too worried about how you or anyone else test. I can only do my best and as long as @Kari is around to make sure we can get every Build, I'm good.

Little problem, I'm all out of green cards and Trump is not too keen on illegal immigrants. I missed an opportunity in 1996 to move to Texas to be the boss in newly opened plant my corporation was establishing and was going to arrange all papers for me. I refused because I though that would be too much of cultural shock for me.
Sorry, but I have to respond . . . He ain't too keen on legal immigrants either. :) Texas is great and I'm sorry to be leaving, but my daughter in Arkansas wants us there and eventually, we'll need to be there in case of old age.
