After enabling ESD on my laptop, WU shows that there are no new updates to install! Really!??!?

So ultimately I decided to download the esd from elsewhere and install it through my USB. Unfortunate that UUP is still hit/miss like this.

I have all game mode functions enabled, and I am using UUP to update on my main desktop, and it is using right now.

So it is not the game mode functions causing the problem.

Correction, it has updated - one try only and it worked.

I'm wondering if 15025 isn't the first of the *major* differential upgrades, with the bulk of the download being a building on the base of 15019. In Linux this is the equivalent of a semi-rolling release...

Just on that point, it would be interesting to know how many have had difficulty going from 15019 -> 15025 as opposed to those installing 15025 from another starting point.

Here there was several hours of "Initializing" and thereafter I had complete confidence the build would install successfully.

I have the Reg file on my desktop and very easily accessible.
Could you please explain why you have this 'workaround' on your desktop, just curious as I'm not used to tweak the register. For this IP build 15025, it was my first time tweaking it in Windows (from 8) [emoji854] TIA!

So it can be really re-applied after an update.

Thanks for your quick reply, appreciated. Seems very handy indeed an will look into that, but will a next build not have changed register(s) for that build and re-apply it will overwrite the new with the old?

Exactly. :) But only until UUP starts working the way it's intended to work. I'm all for the idea behind the UUP and can't wait until it's more reliable.

That's why I have the reg file on my desktop. New builds resets UUP back to on.

Yes. The default is now to use UUP, but you can revert to using ESD.

However, after the update installs, the default is enabled again - much like the default browser being test to Edge is you user another browser as default after every update.

So, what he had done is faced the .Reg file that disables UUP and forces ESD on his desktop for easy access, so that after every build update he can easily disable UUP again.
