Oh yeah I remember reading the earlier on too
Yeah it will be slow no matter how fast your system is jacked up either, as it needs to unpack those compressed CAB file first.
Decompressing those CAB-files is fast. Finding a file with a specific name in a deep directory structure and then verifying it's hash is slow.

Yes I had Guest Additions going too - sorry I should have mentioned that.
If I change to 3D and 256MB, that breaks right-clicking on Taskbar icons for me too.
So I think I'm seeing the same problem as you, with those settings
If I put it back to settings as my post above, right-click works better.
Right-click on a blank part of the Taskbar itself seems to work in both scenarios though.
RC on taskbar icons is OK with me it's RC on blank space that doesn't work. It does look though that VB may be the problem.

Hmmm...now when I tested how fast my SHA1-Checker application, I have written, is, it makes no sense for the verification/initialization process to take that long time. Unless it's verifying each and every 50k file until it finds a SHA1 match for a particular entry in the XML-files.

This would be plain stupid to do it like this. But that actually would make sense as it takes a lot of time to go through all 50k files. Or maybe the initialization uses the full fledged search capabilities of Explorer. That is known to be very slow too. I don't know, but something is very wrong here.

It takes me 23 seconds to verify a SHA1 for latest Insider ISO (4 235 124 736 bytes). so this means it should only take 1-2 minutes to verify integrity of each file of 50k+ in total files.

    HMMMM....!?!

Try running CCleaner. On registry and MRUs too.
CCleaner removed a load of rubbish but no improvement. I think I'll work without it on this build. It looks more and more to be a VB problem.

I once wrote a very large and complicated database load which ran for 3 days before we pulled the plug on it. After studying the problem I sorted one of the files in reverse and the whole thing ran through in a couple of hours.
