Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 15019 for PC Insider
-
Here's a new one for 15019...
Did a reset/refresh and a clean install....and got same results. Macrium Reflect will not install. Sets up fine. Gets down to last step where you click to unzip files and begin install, which it does. Defender real-time is off. UAC is off. Default browser changed to IE to get away from a crippled Edge. Running as admin. Windows Installer service is running. VSS is running. Just hangs. No I/O, no errors, no screen, nothing. Just sits. Windows Installer icon is in taskbar. Have to kill the process in taskmanager. Don't know what other steps to take.
Anybody want to guess? I'm all ears!

Yeah, Winaero Tweaker can still conjure up the Font Host, which is still in the system! Pity they did away with it! Or, they made a mistake, or it's in the works!?
Attachment 118912
I just want to be able to change the font, size and boldness; that's all!
you are the best man, I was losing it until I used this app..
Thanks again!

Just a guess
And what a helluva guess it was!
I had another Insider OS I had clean installed and had the problem on it. I restored the clean image back, set that to "from anywhere", and Macrium breezed right on!! No problem!!!
MS went a bit overboard with there definition of "app". Seems anything that is a .msi (Windows Installer package) falls into the category of "app". Not just Store Apps, anything with a .MSI extension.
You're a life saver, @Edwin !! I would never have thought to look there. Many thanks! :)
I'll leave you the honors of popping something up in the Apps Thread, if you want to. Others should be warned/advised.
Note: The Macrium Reflect download is a .exe, which runs fine, just does an installation setup. Inside the package, it downloads the installer, .msi, and the components. That's where it croaks...when it gets all the way to firing up the .msi.

Just changed my apps setting. Thanks, guys.

The asterisks are still cropping up on this new build.*I've had them for at least the last three builds now.
That one at the beginning of the second sentence is not of my doing, honestly.
It wasn't there until after I posted.
- same here, they go if you edit the post - still a bit annoying, though..

here is my email
I will email you a site that has one for free.

Just a guess
- that setting won't stick on this machine..
- after a restart, it reverts to "store only"

Don't do that! Never post your email. PM him if you want. The entire world can see that. For your safety, delete the post and PM him.
Just giving advice......

This is the second update since 15007 that I cannot install.
It gets as far as just past the final reboot, then crashes, and after 2 additional reboots, recovers back to 15007
I have tried a full reset, reinstalled all my software, then tried upgrading again.
No go.
Any suggestions?
