I suspect when they unleash it on the public it will be done with a slightly higher version number than this release preview (extra tweaks sneaked in) so unfortunately it'll come tumbling down the update pipe again. Personally I hope this stays on ice until the traditional patch Tuesday in just over a week so we don't get hit with two sets of updates in quick succession. I remember probably a 2 or 3 months back they chucked a cumulative update out on the Friday before patch Tuesday so we ended up getting two in a matter of days. As someone who wants the amount of updates to become less frequent it was not great. It's fine for insiders who enjoy and have the time to play about with new versions and can tolerate the bugs or side effects of early releases but for general public I do think they shouldn't push them so frequently. Once a month is more than enough. Just my opinion though

Forgive my density, I downloaded the 1GB cab file, but how do I install it?

Edit: OK, never mind - google is your friend!

    Windows 10 x64 Pro Build 15063.540

I have all previous updates until 14393.693, could not find it through Windows Update so downloaded and installed manually. But in the updates history has a different name from "Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64 based Systems (KB3216755)". It has "Windows Update (KB3216755)". DISM and SFC were and are positive before and after this update. Someone in same situation?

    Hi,

Since it was installed manually it won't be listed in "Update history".

    Cheers,

Just installed it, asked for restart and no problems. It does show up if you check in the "Uninstall updates" list.

Yeah, it's there in control panel too, named as "Windows Update (KB3216755)" like in updates history. Plus the previous update it replaces is gone.
Judging what i see should be ok. What name do you have?
Does Brink one is different only because he did it through windows update?
